Why an escape room on a ship?

Real atmosphere, not a stage set: You play aboard genuine museum ships – creaking decks and maritime history included. No replica room in an office building can offer anything like it.

More than 60 minutes of experience: On both ships the tour is included in your ticket – explore the CAP SAN DIEGO or the RICKMER RICKMERS on your own before or after your game, free of charge, between 10:00 and 18:00.

Whatever the weather: All rooms on both ships are fully air-conditioned – pleasantly cool in summer and dry in foul weather.

Right in the harbour: Both ships are just a few minutes’ walk apart, right by the Landungsbrücken, Elbphilharmonie and HafenCity.

Follow the trail of the Maya

The moon hangs high in the sky as you sneak, on your journey through South America, to a long-abandoned excavation site. For years the finest researchers searched here for the golden skull of the last Maya ruler – without success. You’re in luck: the archaeologists’ huts are still standing. You open one of the rickety wooden doors and step into the dark hut.
You are on your own, and before long you make an astonishing discovery that changes everything – the adventure begins.

With your ticket you can also visit the CAP SAN DIEGO free of charge before or after your game (between 10:00 and 18:00). If you play later in the day, we will give you free tickets for the museum.

It knocks, it thumps, it calls out to you. And before you know it, you have climbed into the old villa that has stood abandoned on the edge of town for years. You follow the eerie sounds up to the attic of the old house and then – silence. Before you stands a mysterious game. It draws you under its spell and you begin to play.

But after your very first move you realise this is no ordinary game, but a very dangerous one. It takes you on a magical journey – and if you do not finish the game in time, this journey will be your last. Trembling, you dare to make the next move…

With your ticket you can also visit the CAP SAN DIEGO free of charge before or after your game (between 10:00 and 18:00). If you play later in the day, we will give you free tickets for the museum.

Get a mysterious machine runningGet a mysterious machine running

On the CAP SAN DIEGO a strange story has been told for decades.

Somewhere on board, a brilliant inventor is said to have lived and worked – a man everyone simply called the “Master of Time”. Shortly before the ship set out on its last great voyage, he vanished without a trace. All that remained was a locked door.

No one has ever been able to open it. And this is exactly where your adventure begins.

Gain access to a secret part of the ship. Discover a place full of hiding spots, adventurous puzzles and hidden clues. And unravel the secret the Master of Time left behind for us.

With your ticket you can also visit the CAP SAN DIEGO free of charge before or after your game (between 10:00 and 18:00). If you play later in the day, we will give you free tickets for the museum.

The Forgotten Treasure

During renovation work, a mysterious old document was found beneath the old planks, and you will need to examine it closely. It takes you on a journey across the ship, where puzzles must be solved, your wits put to use and true teamwork proven. Only those who can solve every puzzle are worthy of the treasure.

Take a scavenger hunt (NOTE: a scavenger hunt, not an escape room) aboard the entire CAP SAN DIEGO.

Note: This is NOT an escape room, but a scavenger hunt that you play in small groups of 2 to 7 people, competing against each other aboard the entire ship! In total, 42 people can play at the same time. Depending on how thoroughly you look around the ship during the scavenger hunt, you should allow between 80-100 minutes.

You will need a mobile phone for the scavenger hunt.

The scavenger hunt was designed for adults. Children under 14 can only play the scavenger hunt when accompanied by an adult.

The scavenger hunt can only be played in German.

Rickmer Rickmers

Appease the god of the seas!

The Rickmer Rickmers has long since stopped sailing the seas of this world.

As a visitor to the famous museum ship in Hamburg’s harbour, you explore a secret room on board that was discovered during the most recent restoration. As you enter the room, you notice this strange whispering. Neptune, god of the sea, is calling out to you. He demands his trident, which the captain of the Rickmers stole from him long ago.
The door slams shut, you are trapped, and Neptune has you completely in his grip. Grant him his wish, or Neptune will drag you and the Rickmers down to the bottom of the Elbe…

This room is aimed at ambitious beginner groups of 6 to 7 people as well as experienced groups from 4 people. It is not suitable for children’s groups or groups made up solely of young people under 16.

With your ticket you can also visit the RICKMER RICKMERS free of charge before or after your game (between 10:00 and 18:00). If you play later in the day, we will give you free tickets for the museum.

Rickmer Rickmers

The classic escape room with combination locks and challenging puzzles

During a voyage in the 1960s, a terrible attack took place on the Rickmer Rickmers. Pirates attacked the ship. The captain tragically lost his life and went overboard. Ever since, his spirit can find no peace and haunts the ship’s captain’s cabin to this day. As specialists in supernatural activity, it is now up to you to uncover the secret of his story and finally help the captain to his eternal rest.

A varied escape room with challenging puzzles awaits you. The very special extra: you play in the ship’s original captain’s cabin!

This room is aimed at ambitious beginner groups of 4 to 6 people as well as experienced groups from 3 people. It is not suitable for groups made up solely of children.

With your ticket you can also visit the RICKMER RICKMERS free of charge before or after your game (between 10:00 and 18:00). If you play later in the day, we will give you free tickets for the museum.

In total, up to four groups can start at the same time, meaning up to 28 people. The scavenger hunt can be played in German and English. Depending on how thoroughly you look around the ship during the scavenger hunt, you should allow 60 to 90 minutes.
