people

Duration: 4 hrs

How it works

You bring the children on board on the day of the game, and the children then play on their own in one escape room aboard the CAP SAN DIEGO (1.5 hrs). While they play, you as the adults can explore the ship or enjoy a coffee at the on-board bistro.

Suitable rooms

All of our escape rooms were originally developed for adults, but some of them can also be played by younger people:
For children from age 10, our escape rooms “The Master of Time” and “The Golden Skull” are suitable.
Teenagers from age 14 can also play the escape room “The Forbidden Game”.

Group size

Up to 8 children can play in each escape room. Simply book online for 7 people, and if there turn out to be 8 children on the day, you can pay for the eighth child on site by debit or credit card.

More to do on board

On top of that, you can explore the entire ship and the museum on board free of charge. You can also enjoy a picnic on the pool deck of the CAP SAN DIEGO. The pool deck is on the very top deck of the CAP SAN DIEGO (if you can see a real pool, you’re in the right place – though unfortunately swimming in it isn’t allowed). There are plenty of tables and chairs around the pool. The area is outdoors but covered, so it can be used from spring to autumn even in bad weather.

Duration

The escape room takes about 1 to 1.25 hrs. For the ship tour you should allow 1.5 hrs, and another hour for the picnic. In total you should expect to spend up to 4 hrs on board.

Costs

The escape room costs €35 per person with at least 5 and a maximum of 8 children per room (incl. VAT). Touring the ship and using the pool deck are free for our guests.

How it works

You bring the children on board on the day of the game, and the children then play on their own in two escape rooms aboard the CAP SAN DIEGO (1.5 hrs).

We have “The Master of Time” twice, so the children can play the same escape room in two groups at the same time.
Teenagers from age 14 can also play the escape room “The Forbidden Game”.

Group size

Up to 8 children can play in each escape room. For 16 children, simply book both escape rooms online for 2 × 7 = 14 people, and if there turn out to be 16 children on the day, you can pay for the two extra children on site by debit or credit card.

On top of that, you can explore the entire ship and the museum on board free of charge. You can also enjoy a picnic on the pool deck of the CAP SAN DIEGO. Appease the god of the seas!

The Rickmer Rickmers no longer travels the seas of this world.

As a visitor of the famous museum ship in the Port of Hamburg, you will explore a secret room on board that was found during the latest restoration. As you enter the room, you notice this strange whisper. The sea god Neptune is calling you. He’s asking for his trident, which the Captain of the Rickmers stole from him a long time ago.
The door slams shut, you’re trapped and Neptune has you fully in his grip. Fulfil his wish or Neptune will drag you and the Rickmers down to the bottom of the Elbe…

This room is for ambitious beginner groups of 6 to 7 players as well as experienced groups of 4 or more. It is not suitable for children’s groups or youth-only groups under 16.

With your ticket you can also visit the RICKMER RICKMERS before or after your game for free (between 10:00 and 18:00). If you play later, we will give you free tickets for the museum.

The classic escape room with combination locks and challenging puzzles

Back in the 1960s, during a voyage, something dreadful happened aboard the Rickmer Rickmers: pirates ambushed the ship. The captain tragically lost his life and went overboard. Ever since, his spirit has found no peace and still haunts the captain’s cabin to this day. As specialists in supernatural phenomena, you are now called upon to uncover the mystery of his story and finally help the captain find his eternal rest.

A varied escape room with challenging puzzles awaits you. The very special extra: you play in the original captain’s cabin of the ship!

This room is for ambitious beginner groups of 4 to 6 players as well as experienced groups of 3 or more. It is not suitable for children’s groups.

With your ticket you can also visit the RICKMER RICKMERS before or after your game for free (between 10:00 and 18:00). If you play later, we will give you free tickets for the museum.

The Forgotten Treasure

During renovation work, a mysterious old document was found under the old planks – and you have to examine it closely. It takes you on a journey across the ship where you must solve puzzles, use your wits and prove true teamwork. Only those who can solve all the puzzles are worthy of the treasure.

Do a scavenger hunt (ATTENTION: scavenger hunt, not an escape room) aboard the entire CAP SAN DIEGO.

Attention: This is NOT an escape room but a scavenger hunt, played against each other in small groups of 2 to 7 people aboard the entire ship! A total of 42 people can play at the same time. Depending on how much time you take to explore the ship during the hunt, you should allow 60–100 minutes.

You’ll need a mobile phone for the scavenger hunt.

The scavenger hunt was designed for adults. Children under 14 can only play accompanied by an adult.

The scavenger hunt can be played in German and English!

The Sailors’ Last Exam

Do a scavenger hunt (ATTENTION: scavenger hunt, not an escape room) aboard the entire RICKMER RICKMERS. Discover the ship, solve puzzles and tasks and convince your examiner.

The only thing that separates you from your honorary sailor award is the legendary final exam, which will test all the skills you’ll need as a sailor on board. Only with teamwork, brains, creativity and logic will you be able to pass the exam.

Watch out! This is NOT an escape room but a scavenger hunt, which you play in small groups of 4 to 7 people competing against each other aboard the entire ship! Up to four groups – up to 28 people – can start at the same time. The scavenger hunt can be played in German and English. Depending on how much time you take to explore the ship along the way, you should allow 70 to 100 minutes.

The scavenger hunt was designed for adults, but can of course also be played by families. For a children-only group it is only suitable from the age of 14. If younger children take part, an adult must accompany each group at all times.
