On board the Cap San Diego & Rickmer Rickmers
The Escape Rooms

What is an escape room?

An escape room is a live adventure for groups: for 60 minutes you become part of a story and solve puzzles, find hidden clues and crack codes together to complete your mission. No experience needed – every game starts with a short introduction, and our game masters accompany you throughout. At Hidden in Hamburg you play in a truly special place: aboard the museum ships Cap San Diego and Rickmer Rickmers in Hamburg’s harbour. Perfect for beginners and seasoned puzzle fans alike.

How do the rooms differ from one another, or: which is the best room?

All of our Escape Rooms have different themes and therefore different setups. Each Escape Room has its own puzzles and its own surprises. Once you’ve played one Escape Room with us, completely new challenges await you in the next one. The difficulty level of our Escape Rooms is roughly comparable. All of them can be solved within an hour, as long as you work together as a team.

What awaits us in the Escape Rooms?

We won’t give too much away, but: adventure, puzzles and plenty of surprises. You’ll have to solve puzzles, find hiding places, crack codes, combine objects and defuse traps to complete your mission.

In short, the Escape Rooms at Hidden in Hamburg offer you an hour full of suspense, secrets, puzzle-solving fun and moments of triumph!

Can the puzzles also be solved in English?

All Escape Rooms and puzzle hunts are also available in English. You can choose the game language during the booking process. The game language can also be changed spontaneously on site.

Are there other people in the Escape Room besides us?

No, the Escape Room is reserved exclusively for your group.

What happens if we get completely stuck on one of the puzzles?

The puzzles are designed so that different skills are required. Sometimes, though, the spark of inspiration doesn’t come right away. We follow your progress and can give you hints in various ways without spoiling your fun.

Booking & Prices

Where can we see the prices and available times, and how do we book one of the rooms?

If you just want to find out about the prices and available dates first, click here.

Our prices are €35 per person for a minimum of 5 people per room. The minimum price for up to 5 people is therefore €175. Each additional person costs €35.

2 people – COMBI TICKET (Escape Room + free tour of the ship): €175 (€87.50 p.p.)

3 people – COMBI TICKET (Escape Room + free tour of the ship): €175 (€58.30 p.p.)

What happens if one of our team gets sick, or if someone else wants to join us after all?

If your team size changes, that’s no problem. Please keep in mind, however, that the price will not decrease any further once you go below 5 people per room. You can see the prices below. If you have already paid online, you will receive the difference from your booked price as a voucher for the corresponding amount.

How early do we need to be there?

Please arrive 10 minutes before your booked appointment. So if your slot starts at 5:30 pm, for example, please come on board at 5:20 pm. That gives you plenty of time to lock away your things and gather yourselves. All groups receive an introduction before the game. This way, we can make sure every group starts without much delay. The Escape Rooms themselves take about 60 minutes, the puzzle hunts about 90 minutes.

What happens if we want to cancel our appointment?

Cancelling or rescheduling an appointment is generally not possible. Feel free to get in touch with us anyway and we’ll see what we can do.

Who can play

How big should the group be?

We recommend a group size of 4 to 7 people per Escape Room and puzzle hunt.

What if one of our team is claustrophobic?

We’ve already had many guests who played despite claustrophobia, and everyone was thrilled afterwards. Our game masters can let you out of the room at any time. The door you enter the room through is never locked, so you can leave whenever you like. If you’re unsure, feel free to get in touch with us. Together we’ll find a solution.

Can we bring children up to 3 years old?

We recommend not bringing children up to 3 years old along to play, as it is very dark in all of our rooms and loud sound effects are sometimes triggered. You also won’t be able to carry the child the entire time during the game.

Are the Escape Rooms suitable for people with disabilities?

Unfortunately, our Escape Rooms on the CAP SAN DIEGO and the RICKMER RICKMERS are not wheelchair accessible. In particular, access by wheelchair is not possible.

Deaf groups can play in selected rooms on board the CAP SAN DIEGO by prior arrangement. Please be sure to contact us before making a booking as a deaf group. Otherwise, your game will not work as planned.

Unfortunately, the Escape Rooms on the RICKMER RICKMERS are not suitable for deaf groups.

Are the Escape Rooms suitable for people with epilepsy?
