Frequently Asked Questions

How many friends is an Escape Room suitable for?

An Escape Room fits 2 to 7 people. If you are a larger group, you simply split across several rooms and play at the same time – or you do the scavenger hunt together, in which up to 28 people can take part.

What does an Escape Room cost per person?

If you book online, you pay €35 per person (from 5 people). For smaller groups a fixed price per room applies – you will see the exact cost for your group size directly at checkout.

What does the scavenger hunt cost?

The scavenger hunt costs €17 per person.

How do you book?

Very easily, directly online: pick your room and time from the available dates and book in just a few clicks.

What exactly is an Escape Room?

Together you are “locked” into a room and have 60 minutes to solve the hidden puzzles and get out again in time. Only together as a group will you make it.

Do you need any prior experience?

No. Before the game you get a short introduction – then you can get started right away, whether you are Escape Room pros or first-time players.

What happens if we get stuck?

No problem: our game master keeps an eye on you and gives you a hint when needed so you stay in the game.

How long are we on board in total?

An Escape Room takes around 60 minutes, the scavenger hunt a little longer. Allow a bit more time for the welcome and briefing – and make use of the free ship tour.

Is the ship tour included?

Yes. Before or after your game you can explore the CAP SAN DIEGO or the RICKMER RICKMERS on your own for free between 10:00 and 18:00.

Can we also play in English?

All Escape Rooms can be played in German and English. The scavenger hunt on the RICKMER RICKMERS is also available in German and English, the one on the CAP SAN DIEGO only in German.

Are the rooms air-conditioned and heated?

Yes, all rooms on both ships are fully air-conditioned – pleasantly cool in summer, warm in winter.

Are there drinks on site?

Aboard the CAP SAN DIEGO we sell soft drinks, beer and sparkling wine. On request you get a welcome drink – perfect for toasting your adventure.

Appease the god of the seas!

The Rickmer Rickmers has long since stopped sailing the seas of this world.

As a visitor to the famous museum ship in the Port of Hamburg, you explore a secret room on board that was found during the recent restoration. As you enter the room, you notice this strange whispering. Neptune, god of the sea, is calling for you. He demands his trident, which the captain of the Rickmers stole from him long ago.
The door slams shut, you are trapped and Neptune has you firmly in his grip. Grant him his wish, or Neptune will drag you and the Rickmers down to the bottom of the Elbe…

This room is aimed at ambitious beginner groups of 6 to 7 players as well as experienced groups of 4 or more people. It is not suitable for children’s groups or purely youth groups under 16 years of age.

With your ticket you can also visit the RICKMER RICKMERS for free before or after your game (between 10:00 and 18:00). If you play later, you will receive free tickets from us for the museum.

Rickmer Rickmers

The classic Escape Room with combination locks and challenging puzzles

During a voyage in the 1960s, a terrible raid took place on the Rickmer Rickmers. Pirates attacked the ship. The captain tragically lost his life and went overboard. Ever since, his spirit can find no peace and haunts the ship’s captain’s cabin to this day. As specialists in supernatural activity, it is now up to you to uncover the secret of his story and finally help the captain find his final rest.

A varied Escape Room with challenging puzzles awaits you. The very special extra: you play in the ship’s original captain’s cabin!

This room is aimed at ambitious beginner groups of 4 to 6 players as well as experienced groups of 3 or more people. It is not suitable for purely children’s groups.

With your ticket you can also visit the RICKMER RICKMERS for free before or after your game (between 10:00 and 18:00). If you play later, you will receive free tickets from us for the museum.

The Forgotten Treasure

During renovation work, a mysterious old document was found under the old planks, and it is up to you to examine it closely. It takes you on a journey across the ship, where puzzles must be solved, your wits put to use and true teamwork proven. Only those who can solve every puzzle are worthy of the treasure.

Go on a scavenger hunt (NOTE: scavenger hunt, not an Escape Room) aboard the entire CAP SAN DIEGO.

Note: This is NOT an Escape Room, but a scavenger hunt, which you play in small groups of 2 to 7 people competing against each other aboard the entire ship! In total, 42 people can play at the same time. Depending on how thoroughly you explore the ship during the scavenger hunt, you should plan for between 60-100 minutes.

For the scavenger hunt you need a mobile phone.

The scavenger hunt was designed for adults. Children under 14 can only play the scavenger hunt when accompanied by an adult.

The scavenger hunt can only be played in German.

The Last Test of the Sailors

Go on a scavenger hunt (NOTE: scavenger hunt, not an Escape Room) aboard the entire RICKMER RICKMERS. Explore the ship, solve puzzles and tasks and convince your examiner.

Only the legendary final test now stands between you and your distinction as honorary sailors – a test of all the skills you need as sailors on board. Only with teamwork, brains, creativity and logic will you manage to pass the test.

Note! This is NOT an Escape Room, but a scavenger hunt, which you play in small groups of 4 to 7 people competing against each other aboard the entire ship! In total, four groups can always start at the same time, meaning up to 28 people. The scavenger hunt can be played in German and English. Depending on how thoroughly you explore the ship during the scavenger hunt, you should plan for 70 to 100 minutes.

The scavenger hunt was designed for adults but can of course also be played by families. For a purely children’s group, it is only suitable from the age of 14. If younger children are taking part, the continuous presence of one adult per group is required.
