Duration: 4 hrs

How it works

You bring the children on board on the day of the game, and the children then play on their own in one escape room aboard the CAP SAN DIEGO (1.5 hrs). While they play, you as the adults can explore the ship or enjoy a coffee at the on-board bistro.

Suitable rooms

All of our escape rooms were originally developed for adults, but some of them can also be played by younger people:
For children from age 10, our escape rooms “The Master of Time” and “The Golden Skull” are suitable.
Teenagers from age 14 can also play the escape room “The Forbidden Game”.

Group size

Up to 8 children can play in each escape room. Simply book online for 7 people, and if there turn out to be 8 children on the day, you can pay for the eighth child on site by debit or credit card.

More to do on board

On top of that, you can explore the entire ship and the museum on board free of charge. You can also enjoy a picnic on the pool deck of the CAP SAN DIEGO. The pool deck is on the very top deck of the CAP SAN DIEGO (if you can see a real pool, you’re in the right place – though unfortunately swimming in it isn’t allowed). There are plenty of tables and chairs around the pool. The area is outdoors but covered, so it can be used from spring to autumn even in bad weather.

Duration

The escape room takes about 1 to 1.25 hrs. For the ship tour you should allow 1.5 hrs, and another hour for the picnic. In total you should expect to spend up to 4 hrs on board.

Costs

The escape room costs €35 per person with at least 5 and a maximum of 8 children per room (incl. VAT). Touring the ship and using the pool deck are free for our guests.

How it works

You bring the children on board on the day of the game, and the children then play on their own in two escape rooms aboard the CAP SAN DIEGO (1.5 hrs).

We have “The Master of Time” twice, so the children can play the same escape room in two groups at the same time.
Teenagers from age 14 can also play the escape room “The Forbidden Game”.

Group size

Up to 8 children can play in each escape room. For 16 children, simply book both escape rooms online for 2 × 7 = 14 people, and if there turn out to be 16 children on the day, you can pay for the two extra children on site by debit or credit card.

On top of that, you can explore the entire ship and the museum on board free of charge. You can also enjoy a picnic on the pool deck of the CAP SAN DIEGO. Follow the trail of the Maya

The moon hangs high in the sky as you sneak off during your journey through South America towards a long-abandoned excavation site. For years the finest researchers searched here for the golden skull of the last Maya ruler – without success. You’re in luck: the archaeologists’ huts are still standing. You push open one of the rickety wooden doors and step into the dark hut.
You’re on your own, and before long you make an astonishing discovery that changes everything – the adventure begins.

With your ticket you can also visit the CAP SAN DIEGO free of charge before or after your game (between 10:00 and 18:00). If you play later in the day, we’ll give you free passes for the museum.

Win back time

On board the CAP SAN DIEGO a strange story has been told for decades.

Somewhere on board, a brilliant inventor is said to have lived and worked – a man everyone simply called “The Master of Time”. Shortly before the ship set off on its last great voyage, he vanished without a trace. All that remained was a locked door.

No one has ever been able to open it. And this is exactly where your adventure begins.

Gain access to a secret part of the ship. Discover a place full of hiding spots, adventurous puzzles and hidden clues. And unravel the secret that the Master of Time left behind for us.

With your ticket you can also visit the CAP SAN DIEGO free of charge before or after your game (between 10:00 and 18:00). If you play later in the day, we’ll give you free passes for the museum.

Rickmer Rickmers

The Rickmer Rickmers hasn’t sailed the world’s oceans for a very long time.

As a visitor to the famous museum ship in Hamburg’s harbour, you explore a secret room on board that was discovered during the most recent restoration. As you enter the room, you notice that strange whispering. Neptune, god of the sea, is calling out to you. He demands the return of his trident, which the captain of the Rickmers stole from him long ago.
The door slams shut, you’re trapped, and Neptune has you firmly in his grip. Grant his wish, or Neptune will drag you and the Rickmers down to the bottom of the Elbe…

This room is aimed at ambitious beginner groups of 6 to 7 players as well as experienced groups from 4 people. It is not suitable for children’s groups or all-teen groups under the age of 16.

With your ticket you can also visit the RICKMER RICKMERS free of charge before or after your game (between 10:00 and 18:00). If you play later in the day, we’ll give you free passes for the museum.

Rickmer Rickmers

The classic escape room with combination locks and demanding puzzles

During a voyage in the 1960s, a terrible raid took place aboard the Rickmer Rickmers. Pirates attacked the ship. The captain tragically lost his life and went overboard. Ever since, his ghost has been unable to find peace and still haunts the ship’s captain’s cabin to this day. As specialists in supernatural activity, it’s now up to you to uncover the secret of his story and finally help the captain find his final rest.

A varied escape room with demanding puzzles awaits you. The very special extra: you play in the ship’s original captain’s cabin!

This room is aimed at ambitious beginner groups of 4 to 6 players as well as experienced groups from 3 people. It is not suitable for all-children’s groups.

With your ticket you can also visit the RICKMER RICKMERS free of charge before or after your game (between 10:00 and 18:00). If you play later in the day, we’ll give you free passes for the museum.

The Forgotten Treasure

Take on a scavenger hunt (NOTE: a scavenger hunt, not an escape room) across the entire CAP SAN DIEGO.

During renovation work, a mysterious old document was found beneath the old planks – and it’s up to you to take a closer look. It sends you on a journey across the ship, solving puzzles, using your wits and proving real teamwork. Only those who can solve every puzzle are worthy of the treasure.

Note: This is NOT an escape room but a scavenger hunt that you play in small teams of 2 to 7 people, head to head, across the entire ship! Up to 42 people can play at the same time. Depending on how thoroughly you explore the ship during the scavenger hunt, you should allow between 60 and 100 minutes.

You’ll need a mobile phone for the scavenger hunt.

The scavenger hunt was designed for adults. Children under 14 can only play the scavenger hunt accompanied by an adult.

The scavenger hunt can be played in German and English!

Note! This is NOT an escape room but a scavenger hunt that you play in small teams of 4 to 7 people, head to head, across the entire ship! Up to four groups can start at the same time, so up to 28 people in total. The scavenger hunt can be played in German and English. Depending on how thoroughly you explore the ship during the scavenger hunt, you should allow 70 to 100 minutes.
